医学史の研究者・教育者です。ロンドンのウェルカム医学史研究所で医療の社会史、特に精神医療の社会史を学びました。慶應では、一般教養の歴史学、少人数セミナー、ジェンダー論、大学院（社会学研究科）で教えています。日本、北米、ヨーロッパ各国から、大学院生、留学生、ポスドク、若手研究者、訪問学者を受け入れており、国際的な研究室になっています。
