  • 慶應義塾大学環境情報学部教授、政策・メディア研究科委員、博士（学術）。1964年京都府宇治市生まれ。東京農業大学農学部造園学科卒業。鹿島建設建築設計本部、Hellmuth,Obata and Kassabaum Saint Louis Planning Group、株式会社ランドスケープデザイン設計部を経て2015年4月より現職。外部環境のデザインや地図の表現、地域景観などの研究・教育を行っている。著書に「思考としてのランドスケープ　―地上学への誘い」（LIXIL出版、2018年。2019年度造園学会賞著作部門）「ランドスケール・ブック」（LIXIL出版、2012年）「今和次郎『日本の民家』再訪」（瀝青会として共著、平凡社、2012年。日本建築学会著作賞、日本生活学会今和次郎賞）など。2018年度東京農業大学造園大賞「ランドスケープから“地上学”へ ー 場への新たな概念形成とランドスケープの裾野を広げる多面的展開」。東京大学大学院新領域創成科学研究科、関東学院大学建築・環境学部、神奈川大学建築学部非常勤講師。日本生活学会理事。調布市景観審議会専門委員、藤沢駅前街区エリアデザイン会議委員、国立市まちづくり審議会委員。東京大学空間情報科学研究センター客員研究員。

    This article introduces a method for attracting students' interest in topography in a university architecture exercise. Although architecture is a field that requires knowledge and interest in topography, there are few opportunities to study Geomorphology in university architecture courses. Therefore, a class to observe and illustrate topography was conducted as a part of design-course exercises for first-year students in a university architecture department. For the class, a method suitable for architecture students was developed. They walked around the university campus with a topographic map and drew illustrations of the landscape in which topography is visible. The drawing process effectively allowed the students to observe, discover, and consider the relationship between topography and the actual landscape.

    徳島県神山町を対象に、山間の農村集落において、その様子や素材がオーセンティシティを欠くために伝統的な地域景観としては評価されず、また地域の住民にとってはあまりに日常的な風景であるために注目されない工作物について、「名付ける」「見立てる」といった方法でそれらを顕在化し、私たちのその環境への認知に補助線を引き、新しい輪郭をもたらす「ランドスケープデザイン」の実践事例を紹介する。
