研究テーマはスポーツコーチング。コーチングの複雑な心理的葛藤をゲーム理論を援用し定式化した。現在はアスリートの効果的なエンパワーメントとライフスキルの関連について研究中。著書に『コーチングのジレンマ』・『スポーツコミュニケーション』ブックハウスエイチディ。2015年より公益財団法人日本ハンドボール協会理事・監事など歴任。
女性アスリートの引退後のキャリア準備へ向けた選択と行動について、一般社団法人日本トップリーグ連携機構と共同で調査中。女性アスリートの人間力（ライフスキル）を社会にいかすしくみについて研究中。
